At Fatboy, we believe good design is made to be loved, cared for, and to last for years. That’s why we design with circular principles in mind. Wherever possible, we choose recycled materials without compromising on quality.
Our products are made from high-quality materials and designed so you can keep using them, repairing them, and adapting them. Does your taste or interior change, then interchangeable covers let you effortlessly give your design a new look. And if something breaks, you simply replace a part instead of buying a whole new item.
High quality
High quality is the foundation of products that last. We extensively test our designs for comfort, stability, and durability, so they can handle intensive daily use. We don’t only do this for new products. Existing designs are continuously improved as well, for example by upgrading materials. That’s how we make sure design is not only beautiful, but also reliable and made to be enjoyed for years.
With recycled materials
With every product, we look at how we can make conscious choices without compromising on design, quality, and comfort. Wasting less and reusing smartly are key principles. Wherever possible, we reduce material use and work with recycled materials.
The Attackle Sofa and the Concrete Seat are good examples. These products are made entirely from recycled materials and produced in the Netherlands. They are strong enough to last for years and designed with efficient material use in mind. We don’t only do this for new products. Existing designs are also regularly updated with more sustainable materials.
Circular design
Circular design means that we already look ahead to the future at the very first design stage. How do we make sure a product lasts a long time, is easy to maintain, and can be adapted when needed?
Repair kits
This circular way of designing makes repairs easy. If something needs replacing over time, our repair kits allow you to replace individual parts without having to buy a completely new product.
Sumo Sofa
The Sumo Sofa design sofa is a great example of designing with a circular mindset. Nothing in the sofa is glued, and it consists of separate components. This allows you to expand or reconfigure it at any time. One day a loveseat in the reading corner, the next day a generous corner sofa in the living room. The covers are also interchangeable, so you can give the Sumo Sofa a new look whenever you feel like a different color or fabric. And if you ever say goodbye to it, you can fully disassemble the sofa and recycle all its parts.
Original Outfits
Making sure a product lasts as long as possible is an important part of our design process. That’s why many of our products have interchangeable covers. The Original Outfits are a great example. By simply replacing the cover of your beanbag, you give it a new look or turn an indoor beanbag into an outdoor version. This way, you don’t have to buy a new beanbag right away when your taste or use changes.
